The word Yoga comes from the sanskrit root 'yuj' which means union. At the spiritual level, it is union of the individual self with the universal self. it is the union of the body, mind, emotion and intellect. Patanjali's yoga sutra describes eight limbs of yoga. the third limb, asana is well known today as "Yoga".

Practice of yoga promotes good health, peace of mind, emotional equanimity and clarity of thinking. you can start learning yoga at any age. Any one can practice yoga and benifit from it. it does not need any expensive equipment.

Before starting yoga:
  • As any physical activity, please check with your doctor.
  • Check on line or with your friends for a qualified yoga teacher.
  • Make sure they are certified, check references.
  • Take a free class and see if you like the style they teach.
  • If you are looking for yoga therapy, please find some one experienced in that area of therapy.
